About the Business
Flowerpower was established in January 2001, by Gillian Street. Gillian has worked as a florist for over 30 years. Her career started at the court florists Edward goodyear, the royal florists based in the famous Claridges hotel in Mayfair. She gained invaluable experience as a London florist, before becoming head florist. Gillian was managing a team of 20 florists and was personally responsible for liaising with Buckingham Palace. She also oversaw the flowers for many banquets and VIP functions. Flowerpower was created with a view to offering innovative, stylish floral design to the high street.
Gillian & her husband Alan, who is a qualified horticulturalist run Flowerpower in Stevenage Old Town on the High Street. As well as flowers you can also pop in for coffee & cake. The Coffee Bar opened in October 2010. The shop is very modern and turns the traditional florist shop on its head. There are always Aqua packed Hand-tieds' and other arrangements available inside ready to go'.
